Peppa Pig: Hide ‘n Seek is an adorable little puzzle game that tasks pre-school players to find hiding friends by guiding Peppa Pig around a variety of environments. Players drag a series of directional blocks, building a path from Peppa, around obstacles, and to the (often silly) hiding spot.  Each round lets players choose who of the 15 characters will hide, and even gets to drop place them on, under, behind, in front of, or inside the hiding spot. Once the character is hidden in the perfect spot, Peppa counts down and the seek begins. With scaling difficulty, a path must be built from Peppa to that spot with the given blocks. While there’s always a chance to place the wrong block and send Peppa to the wrong spot, the game is full of hilarious animations as Peppa reacts to all the various places the player sends her.

The Noggin team has designed the game to reinforce important Spatial Relations concepts, or how a child understands how objects and people move in relation to each other. From asking players to place George “behind”  the rock or “under” the table, and being able to follow that instruction and see it on screen, it helps young minds solidify those associations. When Peppa is seeking, the use of directional blocks to help guide her leverages spatial knowledge with critical thinking to bridge Peppa’s starting location to the goal. As players master the starter puzzles, the game’s dynamic difficulty engine adds more complex paths, more directional blocks, and several distractors. Workinman Interactive’s design and development team built the game to onboard the youngest of players with easy-to follow prompts, and keep players challenged and interested with procedural, yet guided, level generation and a huge variety of adorable characters and animations.
